A series of intimate plein air paintings.
There’s something different about painting outside, it’s a different energy and pace. I work fast and intuitively, reacting to everything around me & also using my surroundings. Grabbing leaves to rough up the sky, twigs to scrape into the paint, bits of sand, grass and seeds inevitably become embedded in the painting. These pieces are not pictures ‘of’ the landscape as such; but my response, my gut reaction to being part of it.
